BMW Warning Lights and Symbols Guide

As you drive around Portland or Tigard, you may be alarmed when one of the BMW warning lights pops up on your dashboard. BMW Dash Lights Meaning

From letting you know that certain features are in use to making you aware of serious vehicle issues, BMW warning lights are a great tool for Lake Oswego drivers. In most cases, yellow lights are a warning that you should have your vehicle looked at relatively soon at a service center. Red lights, on the other hand, tend to alert you to issues that need attention right away. 

• Airbag System – When this light goes on, it’s because the belt tensioners and/or airbag system have failed. Set up service very soon. 
• Antilock Brake System – This light alerts you to a failure of the driving stability system. Drive cautiously and have the ABS checked out as soon as you can near Tigard. 
• Coolant Level – When there isn’t enough coolant, you’ll receive this warning. Add coolant as soon as possible. 
• Engine Overheating – If you see this light, pull over when it’s safe to do so and turn the vehicle off. Do not open the hood. Contact the nearest BMW dealership right away. 
• Bulb Warning – This light is simply telling you that one of your car’s exterior lights is out. 
• Dynamic Stability Control – You’ll see this light when the DSC system is activated. 
• Tire Pressure Monitor – If the TPMS light is red, one or more of your tires has deflated rapidly. Pull over when it’s safe to do so and inspect your tires. A yellow TPMS light lets you know when tire pressure is off by 10 percent or more.
